On July 29, Meyer Memorial Trust began construction on its new North Portland campus. The foundation’s planned 20,000-foot structure, just northeast of the Broadway Bridge, will house office space for about 50 employees and feature a library, educational garden and convening space for all-hands meeting and collaborating with community partners.

Last spring, The Skanner broke the news of Meyer’s intention to move from its leased office space in the Pearl District to a 25,000-square-foot plot of land at the southwest corner of North Tillamook Street and North Vancouver Avenue. The central location and rich history of 2045 North Vancouver offers a convenient interaction with grantees, partners and the community.

Since 1995, the land has been the site of an impound yard and automotive repair operation. Demolition began in late June. The building is slated for completion in summer 2020. For more information about Meyer Memorial Trust, please visit mmt.org.
