Blacc Shaun and M-Ei8hty of Strange World Records dropped by The Skanner News last week to share the latest happenings in their strange world. First up is the new video Candyman from Quiz. Part Cuban, part Puerto Rican and 100 percent hip hop, Quiz Zilla has created a music video that will hook you into a gore-streaked underworld of horror. You can download Candyman from I-Tunes or go watch Quiz in person along with the rest of the Free Agentz crew, Saturday, Dec. 17 at Dodge City Bar and Grill in Vancouver. Quiz will be performing alongside Mickey Vegas, Syko, M.I.G., Sixx Blyne, and M-Ei8hty. Want more? Cool Nutz will be in the house.
"The Free Agentz got respect for their originality, their lyrics, their delivery and their work ethic," says Blacc Shaun. In fact, says the veteran executive producer, Portland has more hip hop talent than many cities three times its size. And Strange World is getting the word out with shows and mixtapes featuring some of the best of the Northwest.
"People are stepping up to make the industry look this way. We have music from pop to gangsta rap to swag. We're not into promoting violence, but it's serious hip hop with finesse," Shaun said. "Our style is meant to be in bright lights."
"We can bring a party atmosphere to any venue. And we have no trouble, and it's just a good night for everyone. "
Next up for a video release through Strange World will be M-Ei8hty. At just 25, he's been rapping since he was 14.
"I bring a little bit of swag to the table," he said. "I try to make street music without the violence. My punch lines are funny and my own family don't know how hard I can get."
