For those interested in an open exchange of ideas concerning public education in the 21st century, The Second Community Education Forum will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30 at the Kenton Lodge, 8130 N. Denver Ave. in Portland. The event is free and members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Former school board member Derry Jackson is helping organize the meeting, which will focus on the Portland Public Schools.

Agenda:

6:30 pm to 7:00 pm Social (half) hour – review and collect materials available,
meet others, socialize, etc; light refreshments available

7:00 pm to 8:00 pm Presentation – a design for public education in the 21st Century,
Closing the Achievement Gap, a model designed in 2001, chief developers Derry Jackson, Carolyn Leonard, and the late Dr. Eramus Ogbuobiri

8:00 pm to 9:00 pm Open mic – your turn to present ideas, tender grievances, weigh-in
on prevailing issues, concerns and considerations

9:00 pm to 9:30 pm Summarize – where do we go from here, next steps
