Hello my name is Ibeth Hernandez, I am the Assistant SEI SUN School Coordinator at Ockley Green Middle School. Today a parent of one of our students came to me asking for help and resources. Her sister's house was burnt in a fire yesterday and her 3 sons were in it. Luckily the oldest son DJ was able to get the two younger boys out of the burning house safely. DJ is a freshmen at Grant High School, Drevis is in middle school at Sunnyside Environmental, and Dyson is not of school age yet. I don't know the details what happened yesterday, or why the fire started but I do know that this family of four is now homeless and has nothing, no food, clothes and the holidays are around the corner. I would consider DJ a hero for being able to think fast and get himself and his younger brothers to safety. I don't know what you can do on your end to help them out, but I'm sure that by doing a story on them, the community will come together and help them out. The contact person is Jennie Hodges and her number is (503) 706-0546.
Thank you for your time,
Ibeth Hernandez
