Kenneth "KJ" Dawkins Jr. died on Aug. 16. He was 35.

Kenneth was born on November 9, 1973 in Portland to Shirley Murphy and Kenneth Dawkins Sr. In high school KJ excelled in football and basketball. He graduated from Grant High School in 1993 and went on to play collegiate basketball at Umpqua Community College.
KJ has always loved cars. He enjoyed spending time working on his cars and motorcycle. Fishing was another favorite hobby of KJ's and in recent years traveling also became a highlight for him. KJ was adventurous and fun loving. He had many friends who loved being around him and enjoyed his charismatic personality. KJ was a driver for Sysco Foods for the last two and a half years. He recently joined the Pure Speed Icons motorcycle club and became an avid rider. KJ was a devoted father who loved spending time with his children.
He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Dawkins Sr.
He is survived by his wife Heidi Dawkins; son Keishon Dawkins; a daughter due in September Kendall Dawkins; daughter Kilynn Dawkins; mother Shirley Murphy; sisters Keisha Dawkins, Nicole Murphy, Patrice Murphy; brothers Leon Murphy, Kory Murphy and a host of cousins, family, friends and loved ones.
Memorial donations can be made at any US Bank branch in Kenneth Dawkins Jr.'s name.
