Immigration remains a strength for President Donald Trump, but a new AP-NORC poll finds his handling of tariffs is getting more negative feedback. About half of U.S. adults approve of the president's approach to immigration but only about 4 in 10 have a positive view of the way he’s handling the economy and trade negotiations. It also suggests Trump’s volatile threats on tariffs might be erasing his advantage on an issue that’s been largely good for him in the past. Trump's tariff threats have been accompanied by tumbling consumer confidence and wild stock market swings.
