SEATTLE (AP) -- The Washington State Traffic Commission is announcing a statewide campaign against speeders called "Slow Down or Pay Up."
Police and Washington State Patrol officials will discuss details Thursday at a news conference in Seattle.
Extra patrols will start Friday as part of a state traffic safety plan.
The commission says speeding is one of the three leading causes of traffic fatalities on Washington roads, along with impaired driving and not using a seatbelt. And speeding is a leading killer of teens.
