It happened Sunday on a flight from Everett, Washington, to San Francisco. The plane diverted to Portland, Oregon, where it was met by law enforcement officers.

Class sizes, pay and lack of resources are cited as the main issues behind a vote to strike by teachers in Portland, Oregon. The Portland Association of Teachers announced the vote results Friday. The strike would begin Nov. 1, unless an agreement is reached with the school district before then.
