On Saturday, November 27, 2010, Congressman David Wu's father, Keh Chang Wu, passed away from natural causes.

Keh Chang Wu leaves his wife, Hwei Lan Wu, and three children: Karen, Alice, and David. His oldest daughter, Ing Chou, passed away in 2005. Mr. Wu also leaves two grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah.

Mr. Wu was 87 years old. He served as an aviator in the Chinese Air Force during World War ll. He chose to leave China for Taiwan in 1946, before the Chinese Communist revolution, expecting to return home to Suzhou after a year or two. His wife, Hwei Lan, and second oldest child, Karen, accompanied him to Taiwan.

In 1955, Mr. Wu immigrated to America, leaving his wife, mother, and children in Taiwan because of restrictive U.S. immigration laws. The family reunited in America in 1961.

Mr. Wu attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He worked at Watervliet Arsenal in Troy, New York, from 1955 to 1963 and for Northrop Corporation in Hawthorne, California, from 1963 to 1982. After his retirement, he served as an engineering consultant for many years.
