Former King County Council member Bruce Laing, left, state Rep. Eric Pettigrew, King County Councilor Larry Gossett, King County Council Chair Larry Phillips, King County Executive Ron Sims and state Sen. Adam Kline were honored April 2 by the First African Methodist Episcopal Church for their efforts to name King County after the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and to adopt the visage of the Rev. King as the county's official logo. Gossett also received the first-ever FAME Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award.
