On Friday April 24 the hippest, hottest and newest runway fashion was at the Portland Convention Center for the 51st annual Ebony Fashion Fair. On display were some of the hottest designers, such as Luca Luca, Gianni Calignanos, Rubin Singer, Giles Montezin, Marc Bouwer, Missoni, Kevin Hall, and Emmanuel Ungaro.
Showcasing some of the best designers across the world, the crowd was engulfed in the beaded, sleek, sultry looks of the runway.
"I'm in love with what they are showcasing this year, everything is fierce!" says attendee Erin Davidson, who chatted with her friends during the intermission of the show.
The  Ebony Fashion Fair has become one of the world's largest traveling fashion shows and has been going strong for 51 years. The Fair tours more than 170 U.S. cities, and models strut to the sounds of Kelis, Keyshia Cole, the Black Eyed Peas, and Pussy Cat Dolls. They rocked down the runway with gold enhanced pleats, bright bold pinks, greens and reds, dirty denim jeans, and ostrich feathered, dreaded hats.
Attendees enjoyed the funny antics of the models proving that the runway can be fun and entertaining.
"All of them are so pretty but the plus size model (Phonical Washington) was my favorite," said Lanna Andrews. "The runway should not just be for women size four."
While showing the beautiful selections they served up skits that included dance offs, small cat fights and the fight for the love of two male models. The male models held their own along with the 10 female models.
The show was hosted by the Portland Chapter of Links Inc. and The White Rose Educational Fund, Inc. and supports the education of youth by giving 11 youth college scholarships.
