Annie Mae Miller was born on May 7, 1925 in Marshall, Texas, one of eight children born to  James and Surmentha Scott. She died Oct. 19 and services were held at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church on Oct. 31.
She received her education in Marshall, Texas. She moved to Oregon in 1964 with her family and became a member of Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church.
Miller was a hair stylist at Dean Beauty Shop and later became a homemaker.
In 1981 she returned to Texas with her grandson Leroy Johnson, where he continued to live with her until her death.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend who would be there to assist anyone. She loved cooking and canning.
Preceding her in death was her mother and father: James and Surmentha Scott Jr.; husband: Jacob Miller; son: Zebedee Manning; brothers: Fred Scott, Hayward Scott and James Scott Jr; sister: Helen S. Murray and Alice Johnson.
She is survived by her sisters: Beatrice Scott and Lillian Jones of Fort Worth, Texas; children: Leola McSwain, Yvonne Lawrence (Stevie), Surmentha Ann Miller; and goddaughter: Jenese Fayson; grandchildren: Marcella Lockett (Brad), Carla Smalley (Darry), Leroy Johnson, Jeanette Manning, Janel McSwain, Warren Wallace, Whitney and Brittney Bickham; 7 great grandchildren: Leonard Darry Jr., DaKari and DeVonta, Donald and Ja'Nita.
Arrangements were by  Cox & Cox Funeral Chapel.
