Eric Martel Webb was born to Bobby Lee Webb Jr. and Sonia Cole, on October 14, 1983, in Gardena, Calif. He died Sept. 29, and services were held Oct. 6 at Mt. Olivet Church.
At a very early age Webb was a member of Crusaders Temple Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles, Calif. He attended elementary and middle school there, and graduated from Fremont High School.
After graduating in 2001, Webb moved to Oregon to attend North Western Christian College and Oregon State University. Later Webb moved to Portland to attend Portland State University and in 2005 he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and minor in Black Studies, after which he went on to pursue course work for his Masters degree in Mathematics.
Webb had a passion for "education" and a desire to help educate all who desired to learn. Family members said he was strong willed, very passionate about life and he was a Republican.
Webb's interest and hobbies always led to competition. He loved basketball, chess, writing short stories, music, classic and recreational vehicles, and he also made time to tutor students in mathematics.
Webb was a service coordinator with Self Enhancement, Inc. and shared himself as mentor, teacher, and parent to a caseload of fifty students at Beaumont Middle School. When he initially accepted the position, he was told that the Self Enhancement program was in its last year at Beaumont. However, Webb, with his innate gift and enthusiasm, impacted the entire school staff administration in such a way that they shifted the decision and the program was accepted to continue.
Webb met his wife Siyonna at Portland State University in 2004. They became great friends, began dating and decided to marry in 2006. The couple had two daughters, Haley Marie Webb (2 years old) and Lauren Elise Webb (10 months old).
Webb is preceded in death by great-grandmother Estelle Wills; great-grandmother and -father Pearl Mack and Arthur Mack; grandparents, Bobby Webb Sr. and Estelle Webb; uncle Major Blackmon Jr.; aunt Shelia Mack Williams; Uncle Richard, aunt Pearl, and cousin Larry.
He is survived by his wife; his two daughters; his mother Sonia Cole and her husband Patrick Cole of California; his brothers Ryan Cole, Kenneth Cole, Austin Cole; his sisters Ashley Cole, Breeanna Webb, and Bobbie Webb.
