The musical and artistic talentsofOregon Departmentof EnvironmentalQuality employees will be showcased during a fund-raiser funds for Oregon Food Bank on Saturday, Feb. 25.


The talent show will run from 6 to 9p.m.at Foodstock 2006, atPortland Community College's Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave.


Tickets are $15 atthedoor. Children age 5 and under are admitted free.


Last year's event raised more than $3,000. This year, DEQ hopes to double that amount.


"This event allows DEQ staff to have fun and raise money for a great cause," said Pat Vernon, event organizer. "We were overwhelmed by the response last year and had to seek a bigger venue for 2006."


Oregon Food Bank — a nonprofit, charitable organization — is the hub of a statewide network of more than 894 hunger-relief agencies serving Oregon and Clark County, Wash. The food bank recovers food from farmers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, individuals and government sources. It then distributes that food to 20 regionalfood banks across Oregon.The organization also works to eliminate the root causes of hunger through advocacy and public education.
