The World Arts Foundation honored its Keep the Dream Alive Lifetime Achievement Award recipients on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Hyatt Regency at the Convention Center in Portland, Ore. Bernie and Bobbie Foster, The Skanner News founders, were presented with the award.

In addition to Foster, Lifetime Achievement Awardees being honored this year are: Johnell Bell, chief executive officer of Espousal Strategies LLC; Sharon Gary-Smith racial and social justice activist; Hermann Colas Jr. of COLAS Construction, Tony Hopson, founder and former CEO of Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI); and John Washington, seasoned entrepreneur, community advocate. Recipients were chosen for their dedication to advocacy, leadership, and social change, leaving a lasting legacy of positive impact across their respective fields and communities.
