A Day of Hope and Healing is being held in Seattle to help people overcome their anger, self hate, low self-esteem, rejection, hopelessness, ability to forgive, violence and suicidal thoughts.

With a speech by Dr. Brenda L. Caldwell, a national empowerment speaker, psychologist and hope restoration specialist, the free event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 20 at 5261 Rainier Avenue S. Lunch is provided. It is being hosted by the Damascus Baptist Church under the Rev. James Broughton III. The morning session from 9 a.m. to noon is for adults and the afternoon session is for teens and young adults (ages 10 to 21).
