Oregon's Black delegates for the Democratic National Convention were in Denver last week to attend a history-making event – the nomination of the first African American as the Democratic Nominee for president. The delegates, many of whom were in telephone contact with The Skanner during the convention, held Aug. 25 to 28, said their experience was invaluable. The delegates included from left Gail Rasmussen, John Cuff, Karen Lonon-Jones, Loretta Smith, Shirley Minor and Bob Williams.
