Does your family have a history of cardiac problems?  Are you wondering whether your teen athlete is at risk? Teen cardian screenings will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Lorenzen Conference Center, Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital, at 2801 N. Gantenbein Ave.
For $10, a team of physicians, nurses and EKG technicians will perform complete screenings for teens between the ages of 13 and 18.
The screening consists of a detailed patient and family medical history, focused on heart disease; a full cardiac health exam, including blood pressure, height and weight; and an electrocardiogram that detects abnormal heart rhythms.
Please allow 30 minutes for the screening tests.  A parent or guardian must be present. This event is for the whole family, with giveaways and refreshments provided.
Appointments are required and can be made by calling 503-335-3500. You must preregister for this event and submit paperwork in advance.
