Calling all young Bible scholars. A Childrens International Arts Festival sponsored by columnist Carey Kinsolving's online ministry, "Kids Talk About God," is sponsoring an art competition  about the bible. The nondenominational ministry is looking for writing and art by children aged 5 – 12 that answers questions about the Bible, posted on the Web site www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org.
"Art is a universal language," said Kinsolving. "Children have a way of cutting right to the heart of a Bible story when they draw art to illustrate it. Their answers to Bible-related questions can be humorous and insightful."
Winners will be offered a vacation trip at one of a dozen dude ranches in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona and upstate New York.
"These trips are major prizes," says Carey Kinsolving, organizer of the festival. "Each child winner and immediate family will get to spend a week at a dude ranch, including food, lodging, horseback riding and other activities."
All children 5-12 years are invited to enter the festival by answering and illustrating Bible-related questions for an online book the festival organizer plans to publish. Each winner may write an essay telling why his or her teacher should win one of the trips.
Festival entries will be accepted through March 31 of next year, but some winners will be announced .before this summer with the rest before the summer of 2009.
To enter the festival, download an entry form at www.KidsTalk AboutGod.org. The entry form contains festival guidelines and the address where entries should be mailed. Periodically, new festival questions will be posted on the website and sent to those who want to be notified by email.
