To increase diversity and create an easier employmentpath, Portland Community College is hosting a part-time faculty recruiting fair this month.

Those interested in applying for part-time faculty positions should attend the event, which will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the CC Building Upper Mall at the Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave.
The event, free to attendees, will feature information sessions on how to become a part-time instructor at the college, how to apply for PCC jobs and what qualifications PCC is looking for in its part-time faculty.

"We're excited to provide an opportunity for potential part-time faculty to have some 'face-to-face' time with department chairs, who are central to the hiring process, and to attract new candidates for our part-time faculty positions who can help us further diversify our faculty," said Paul Hill, interim president at the Sylvania Campus.

The schedule includes individual appointments with selected faculty department chairs between 5:30 and 8 p.m.; a question-and-answer session with Sylvia Welch, director of PCC's affirmative action program, from 6 to 8 p.m.; a breakout session, "How to Use PCC's Online Application System," at 5:40 and 6:40 p.m. in the Teaching Learning Center; and "How to Put Your Best Foot Forward" sessions at 6:10 and 7:10 p.m., also in the TLC.

Featured programs and departments include visual and performing arts, science and computer technologies, student support services, business and humanities and libraries.

Parking is free, starting at 5 p.m. The campus is easily accessible by Tri-Met Bus Routes 44 and 78. The PCC Shuttle will also be in use for the event; for times on the shuttleservice, visit www.pcc.edu/parking. For more information call 503-978-5841.
