The Alliance for Education had announced Constance Rice PhD and Jon and the Hon. Bobbe Bridge as the distinguished gala chairs for its highly anticipated 30th Anniversary Gala. Set for Saturday, April 26, the evening will bring together civic leaders, advocates and community members in a shared commitment to educational justice and racial equity for Seattle Public Schools students.
The milestone event spotlights Seattle Public Schools which has been nurtured by generations of support, care and investment. Handpicked for their transformative leadership and dedication to education, Rice and the Bridges have played pivotal roles in advancing equity and opportunity for Seattle students. Their visionary work and unwavering advocacy embody the Alliance’s mission, making them the perfect honorees to lead this pearl anniversary celebration.
Rice, a renowned education advocate and community leader, has dedicated her career to fostering equitable opportunities for students. She is currently a memberof the Board of Regents at the University of Washington and president of the Very Strategic Group. Rice has been a community leader since she arrived in Seattle at the age of 20, working alongside numerous community organizations and most notably at Casey Family Programs, Seattle Colleges and the University of Washington.
The Bridges, lifelong supporters of education and youth empowerment, have been instrumental in championing initiatives that benefit public school students across the region. Jon is a proud Seattle Public Schools alum and founding member of the board of directors for the Alliance for Education, serving twice as past chair. He currently serves as Chairman and Counsel Emeritus of Ben Bridge Jeweler Inc. and as President of Seattle Rotary among many civic and civil rights boards. The Honorable Bobbe J. Bridge is the Founding President and CEO of the Center for Children & Youth Justic. Previously, she served on the State Supreme Court and on the King County Superior Court where she was Chief Juvenile Court Judge for three years. She has been a member of the boards of many nonprofit organizations including YouthCare and the YWCA, serving the community as a dedicated volunteer and philanthropist.
The Alliance for Education’s Pearl Gala is a premier fundraising event, featuring an elegant evening of dining, inspiring stories, and opportunities to make a direct impact on Seattle’s students. Proceeds will support vital programs at the Alliance like the Right Now Needs Fund and Seattle Teacher Residency – programs that invest in the brilliance of Seattle students and provide the resources they need to thrive.
