Kay has led the organization with innovative new ideas for how we can better serve our community through expanding programs in addiction recovery, reentry services, domestic and sexual violence and early childhood education.

Her dedication to social justice and equity has left an indelible mark on Portland community and Oregon. As the first Black woman to serve as CEO in the organization’s history, her impact extends far beyond her leadership role. Her advocacy for underserved populations, particularly through her work in addiction treatment and support for women in crisis, will continue to influence the organization’s future work.

“Kay’s vision and compassion have been instrumental in shaping VOA Oregon into the dynamic, inclusive, and impactful organization it is today,” said Bruce Warner, chair of the board.

“Her contributions are immeasurable, and her legacy of service will continue to inspire the work of the organization for many years to come.”
