Portland, OR. - The Emerging Leaders Internship program creates a path to success for BIPOC students in the greater Portland Metro area. This innovative program connects BIPOC college students with leading companies while providing mentorship and professional development. 

In 2021, the Emerging Leaders Internship (ELI) program matched 155 students of color with paid, leadership-track summer internships at 100 top Portland companies. There are over 125 company partners signed up for 2022.

A number of these internships have led to full time employment. Sasheen Turner, a member of the Emerging Leaders Internship class of 2020, landed a full-time job as an account manager at Thesis, a digital agency in Portland. Sasheen credits the support she received as an Emerging Leader for assisting her in landing her internship and transitioning into a full-time role.

Applications are open for summer 2022 interns at Internship — Emerging Leaders  The application deadline is January 31, 2022.

Since 2016, the Emerging Leaders Internship program has partnered with nearly 200 companies and connected college talent of color in Oregon and Southwest Washington to 500+ internships.
