The Humboldt Neighborhood Association (HNA) invites the public to participate on Jan. 17 in the March for Human Rights and Dignity in commemoration of the life of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The association’s board is scheduled to tune in virtually to the 36th Annual Skanner Foundation Breakfast for the unveiling of the highly anticipated Drum Major for Justice Award which honors the legacy of Dr. King.

Following the virtual awards ceremony, the community is invited to meet at Peninsula Park (700 N Rosa Parks Way) for a rally that begins at noon with a march directly afterwards. Our Streets PDX will be on-site to receive donated items for its community outreach. Items requested are toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, mouth wash, brushes/combs, socks, gloves and tents, if possible. This will go directly to local homeless communities.

For more information, please review HNA’s safety guidelines or contact them at contact@dontshootpdx.org”
