U.S. Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) will hold a rare joint town hall on Thursday, October 15 at 4:00 PM PDT to discuss housing and environmental justice, along with other community priorities. The event will be held over Zoom with constituents from both Congressional districts.

This is Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s first event with the Portland community as an elected official.

The first question in the community Q&A portion of the event will come from a 5th-grade class at Buckman Elementary.

“For the last two years, I have worked alongside Rep. Ocasio-Cortez on some of our nation’s most pressing issues, including combating the climate crisis and the affordable housing shortage,” Blumenauer said. “She is one of the most inspiring and innovative leaders in Congress. I’m excited that our community will get a chance to speak with her directly and hear more about the legislation we are working on together.”
