sherylita mason medSherylita MasonSherylita Mason presented a webinar on April 18 for the Genealogical Forum of Oregon’s African American Special Interest Group. She talked about how she has used DNA to connect with living relatives and also to help research her ancestors.

Mason has been able to break down brick walls using autosomal DNA by identifying living and recent family connections and including traditional genealogy research, going back as far as a 3rd-great-grandfather. She hopes her methods can help others in their research.
