Oregon State Senator Jackie Winters Portland Memorial Service to Take Place Sept. 27

On Friday, September 27, 2019, there will be a memorial service in Portland, Oregon honoring the life of service of Oregon State Senator Jackie Winters. On May 29, 2019, Senator Winters, known as the soul of the Oregon Legislature, passed away after a battle with lung cancer.

Sen. Winters was remembered by colleagues as “a noble soul” and dedicated public servant.

The memorial service will take place at Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church, 3138 N. Vancouver Ave., Portland, Oregon 97227. The service is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be a reception following the service for those who were touched by Senator Winter’s life to share their experiences and love for her with her family.
