On Tuesday, Jan. 29, Portland scholars and activists will connect Dr. King’s speech to today. “The Three Evils of Society: Racism, Poverty and Militarism” will be held at Portland State University, Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom, 3rd Floor, 1825 SW Broadway. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., program starts at 6:30 p.m.

Panelists scheduled to appear include Lisa Bates and Marisa Zapata from the PSU College of Urban and Public Affairs, Tom Hastings from the PSU Conflict Resolution Program,  Reverend E.D. Mondainé, President of the Portland NAACP and pastor of Celebration Tabernacle Church, with Winston Grady-Willis, director of the PSU School of Gender, Race, and Nations, moderating.
