The 137-year old Morris Marks House
Architectural Heritage Center
Published: 22 September 2017

The 137-year old Morris Marks House will soon be moving to its new home.

After years of planning and hard work, preservationists Karen Karlsson and Rich Michaelson (also an Architectural Heritage Center board member) are relocating the Italianate structure to a vacant lot near the 405 interchange at SW Broadway and 6th Ave.

Its relocation is scheduled to start on Sept. 30 and will take approximately two days. The progress of the move can be followed on Facebook at Moving Morris Marks House.

Moving the house, which is owned by Steve and Sue Blindheim, entails splitting it in two. Preparations will be handled by Arciform, a Portland design-build firm that specializes in the restoration and remodeling of vintage and historic homes and buildings.
