Portland, OR -- The Multnomah Youth Commission, the official youth policy body of Multnomah County and the City of Portland, is hosting a free Youth Candidate Forum with candidates who are running for Portland Mayor, Portland City Council, and Multnomah County Board of Commissioners.

The event is an opportunity for youth ages 13-21 to discuss various policy issues with the candidates, including the recent rise in violence against youth, candidates' budget priorities, and how the candidates will work to promote "Our Bill of Rights: Children & Youth,” the first youth bill of rights of its kind in the United States. Over a hundred young people are expected to attend. At the end of the forum, they will be voting to decide the winner of the “youth vote” - who they want to have as representatives in city and county government.

The Youth Candidate Forum will be held at Benson Polytechnic High School on Wednesday, April 27 from 6-8pm.
