Speaker of the Oregon House Tina Kotek, Rep. Lew Frederick, and Sen. Chip Shields will be hosting a town hall in preparation for the 2014 Legislative Session. The focus of the town hall is on seeking solutions to the growing wealth gap. Activists say they also plan to share concerns about gentrification in N/NE Portland and about the Majestic Realty development on N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Alberta.

Second, North East Coalition of Neiborhoods’ Community Economic Development Committee meets Tuesday Jan. 28.

Steven Gilliam from the Portland African American Leadership Forum (PAALF) will share some ideas on community economic development and affordable housing. Everyone is invited to attend, learn more about these issues and share views with community leaders.
