Black Voices United is proud to co-host a Black Voices Candidates Forum for candidates running for the PPS School Board.

Black Voices United, Portland African American Leadership Forum (PAALF), Portland Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Maranatha Church, Black United Fund, Black Community Portland, Community Alliance of Tenants, Lori By Desygn, Solid Ground PDX and Renee Anderson are proud to co-host a Black Voices Candidates Forum for candidates running for the PPS School Board on Saturday, April 13, 2019 beginning at 2:00pm at Maranatha Church located at 4222 NE 12th Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97211.

Candidates Andrew J. Scott and Jeff Sosne, running for Zone 1 currently occupied by Julie Esparza-Brown, EdD; Candidates Shanice Brittany Clarke and Michelle A. DePass, running for Zone 2 currently occupied by Paul Anthony; Incumbent Candidate Amy Kohnstamm, Candidates Deb Mayer and Wes Soderback, running for Zone 3; and Candidates Eilidh Lowery and Robert Schultz, running for Zone 7 currently occupied by Mike Rosen have been invited to participate.

The forum is free and open to the public with childcare provided. This event will function in an authentic forum format where candidates answer questions from a moderator, but do not directly engage with each other.

The moderator, Samuel Thompson, will provide each candidate an opportunity to briefly address the audience with opening statements, and then they each will be asked a series of questions. If time permits, members of the audience will then have an opportunity to ask additional questions. To submit a question, visit our Ask Form.
