Seattle Smash Putt 2013: Miniature Golf Apocalypse Opens for Limited Run

Like miniature golf? Hate art installations? You might change your mind after Smash Putt: Miniature Golf Apocalypse, back for a limited Seattle engagement March 1 through April 28 in the SODO neighborhood.

"Basically we've taken the miniature golf that everyone knows and loves, smashed the concept to bits, and rebuilt it in our own post-apocalyptic image," says one of the artists behind the event, Josh Zelenka. "The new version is called SMASHPUTT! and it's a lot louder than you remember."

Smash Putt rocked the region in past years, with its vision of a family-friendly activity hijacked with red lights and beer for a 21-and-over atmosphere.

But the centerpiece of Smash Putt is the holes themselves: past years have included an inverted foosball table, a "scratch-and-sniff hole," and the turntable hole.
