The lecture and discussion is being held as a part of the Portland Plan's Inspiring Communities Series. The Portland Plan is a 25-year visionary strategy to help the city cope with some of its major, long-term goals.

Agyeman is a professor and chair of the Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning Department at Tufts University. The evening's events will be introduced by Mayor Sam Adams, followed by the keynote address and then a discussion with Marcus Mundy, president and CEO of the Urban League of Portland; Jonathan Ostar, co-director of Environmental Justice Oregon; and Ronault "Polo" Catalani with the Portland Office of Human Relations.
