Over hundred performed at the 39th annual Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival. Despite a year when heavy rains made a bumbershoot a handy item to have, thousands of music fans streamed into the Seattle Center over the Labor day weekend to see a variety of music, entertainment and appearances by writers like Melvin Van Peebles and SE Hinton.


The Black Eyed Peas were one of the bigger acts to perform.


Janelle Monae is a Grammy Award-nominated American urban/alternative singer, songwriter, and performer. She is currently signed to the Wondaland Arts Society, and Bad Boy/Atlantic Records.

Top skate pros did an exhibition performance at the Rockstar Energy Drink Vert Ramp.
