blues fest logoWith COVID-19 taking away Portland's annual live festival this year, KBOO community radio, and KOIN TV, Portland's CBS affiliate, are broadcasting memorable performances from years past.

KOIN 6 will host a two-hour "Flashback and Fireworks" special celebrating some of the most memorable performances from the Waterfront Blues Festival, capped off with a replay of the awe-inspiring fireworks show over the Willamette River. From the comfort of your living room, Ken Boddie (and special festival guests) will have you reliving some of the magical musical moments from the Waterfront. The show airs on Saturday, July 4 from 9 pm to 11 pm on channel 6. You can also view online at www.koin.com. 

KBOO radio will carry the Waterfront Blues Festival from noon Pacific time until 7 pm both Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5. Local Portlanders can catch all the excitement on 90.7 FM and festival friends across the world can join in at https://kboo.fm/listen-now. Blues Fest On Air will feature two full days, July 4th and 5th from 12 pm to 7 pm, of crowd-favorites sets and behind-the-scenes stories from the Waterfront Blues Festival throughout the years.

Due to COVID-19 these public fireworks displays are CANCELED: 

  • Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park on the Willamette River;   
  • Oaks Park annual 4th of July celebration; 
  • Lake Oswego Star Spangled Parade and Celebration;   
  • Independence Day at Fort Vancouver;   
  • North Plains Colonial Celebration; 
  • Corbett Fun Fest;   
  • St. Paul Rodeo;   
  • Estacada Timber Festival;   
  • Hood River Independence Day;
  • and on the coast, fireworks displays have been canceled for Seaside, Astoria, Cannon Beach, Lincoln City, and Newport.
