ABOUT

You're invited to the O'Mallery family barbecue, but don't expect a walk in the park. As they attempt to put the brakes on their sister Barbara's joy ride with drugs, the picnic careens into a crash course where no sibling is spared. Barbecue is a feast of familial stereotypes, racial politics, and the stories we like to tell ourselves (and others) about who we are.

“Blending horrifying and hilarious familial dysfunction with a series of plot twists seemingly designed to fill M. Night Shyamalan with professional envy, O’Hara arguably created a new subgenre—the satirical, socially conscious mindbender.
…brilliantly cast and deftly directed.”
– Willamette Week

Content warning:  This play contains strong language, satirical representation of drug and alcohol abuse and discussions of addiction and recovery.
