State Sen. Chip Shields is holding a town hall forum on jobs this Friday, Aug. 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at MEMC, a solar manufacturing plant located at 7832 N. Leadbetter Road in Portland.
Shields' team will be inviting OHSU, Legacy Health Systems, Oregon Iron Works, YoCream and others to come talk about what available jobs they have and what skills they typically seek.
"We'll also have people from Oregon Housing and Community Services to talk about the money they recently received from the US Treasury to help homeowners in distress, Oregon Employment Department / WorkSource Oregon to talk about their services they provide to job seekers and Business Oregon," said MaryAlecia Briggs, Shields' legislative aide.
