DiaTribe Friday May 25 at the Alberta Rose Theater Portland

The legendary Obo Addy will be joined by well-known Portland artists Mic Crenshaw and Alan Wone to present a history of African music and dance from its traditional roots to urban dance. music. Check us out on FB at http://www.facebook.com/events/409161922457905/ "The word diatribe is a noun which means "a bitter, sharply abusive denunciation, attack, or criticism". An ongoing diatribe is one of the perceptions and image concepts between Africans and African Americans. With such a distance spanning the continents, culture and connection are two gaps that have been widened over generations. One cultural connection that hasn't suffered is the evolution of African rhythm and its ancestral presence within the foundation of hip-hop."
