For the benefit of those who find Sen. Barack Obama's federal experience a little thin for a candidate for president, we need to bear in mind that the last president elected from Illinois had only two years' experience in the House of Representatives, plus failed election bids for the U.S. Senate and the vice presidency. That was Abraham Lincoln — not a lightweight historically.
