Tony Funchess born December 7 to Princess Funchess and Harrison Sims Jr. in Portland, Oregon. He received his wings August 1, 2022.

Tony loved his family, friends, traveling, movies, and food. He leaves to mourn him, his parents, sister Keara Funchess-Rodela; three children, Daniel-Jireh Gonzalez Funchess (Dj), Nehemiah Gonzalez, Promise Funchess and his grandson Nasir Gonzalez.

Tony lived life his way and helped others do the same. He stood for a change, equality, and diversity. He fought for what he believed in starting at Jefferson High school and continued by helping bring awareness to the prison system and speaking at leadership conferences across the country.

In 1999 he became an ordained minister in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He continued his ministry in Portland, Oregon until his passing. Tony’s smile and encouragement will carry on in the hearts of those he loved forever.

He was a warrior!!

Memorial service will be held August 20, 2022 at 11 a. m. Location, Hughes Memorial Methodist Church, 111 NE. Failing Portland, OR 97212
