Although relatively high African American turnout helped catapult Obama and the Democrats to victory two years ago, many outlets are reporting a dismal turnout among those same voters in 2010.

CBS News exit pollingreports that only 10 percent of African American voters showed up to vote. Of course, compared to 13 percent turnout in 2010, there is still much room for improvement in voter outreach efforts among African Americans.

The youth vote was also down from two years ago, reports CBS News, from 19 percent to 10 percent from 2010.
