Native American politician Winona LaDuke warned us a year ago that oil would be drowning our forests. She means the Canadian Alberta tar sands project, the "single largest industrial project in the world." The oil sands are a massive deposit of tar-like bitumen in northern Alberta.
TransCanada Corporation plans a 1,600-mile pipeline from Canada to US oil refineries on the Gulf of Mexico, and say "not to worry, if there's ever a leak, the flow of oil will be quickly shut off." Where have we heard that before?

Winona LaDuke, Ralph Naders Green Party running mate, is Ojibwe Native American.

Environmental groups have called the plan "most destructive " LaDuke says "It is the most evil project on the face of the earth, and I want to do my part to stop it."
