PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Portland coach Nate McMillan's experiment with a three-guard starting lineup has sparked the Trail Blazers. Portland won its second consecutive game since McMillan employed a starting lineup that includes guards Brandon Roy, Andre Miller and Steve Blake. It was Miller leading the way Sunday, as he scored 21 points to lead Portland to a 116-93 win over Minnesota.
SEATTLE (AP) — Former Portland Trail Blazer, Phoenix Suns player and successful Seattle-area high school boys basketball coach Phil Lumpkin has died. Lumpkin was the boys basketball coach at O'Dea High School, which announced his death Monday on its Web site.
According to an ESPN.com article, one of the six groups interested in buying the Rams is led by African American businessman Donald Watkins.
While not a well-known name, Watkins has made a major imprint in the business world.
