Special Olympics Oregon's Fall Games kick off this on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Beaverton and Hillsboro. It's the final Special Olympics Oregon sports event of the year, with about 1,000 athletes to compete in bowling, swimming, volleyball and soccer. Bowlers from around Oregon will pack Park and Sunset bowling lanes in Hillsboro and Beaverton respectively, as they compete for gold, silver and bronze Special Olympics medals. Volleyball, soccer and swim teams will be competing at the Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation Center in Beaverton. Following the games, everyone will meet for dinner and the traditional Victory Dance at Hillsboro High School. Athlete Robert Neyland, who will be competing on the Multnomah Fab Five soccer team, was honored at the Governors' Gold Awards Oct. 4, with the Shriver Greatness Award. A full schedule of events and additional information can be found at www.soor.org.
