Senate Defeats Bill to Reverse Birth Control Rule

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate on Thursday defeated a GOP effort to roll back President Barack Obama's policy on contraception insurance coverage in the first vote on an issue that raised questions of religious and women's rights and riled Americans in this volatile election year.

Amid Harassment Furor, Cain Visits Capitol Hill

Candidate won't say whether he will try to end confidentiality restrictions on accusers

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- Herman Cain is refusing to say whether he will ask his former employer - the National Restaurant Association - to terminate confidentiality restrictions on women who accused him of sexual harassment in the 1990s while he was head of the trade group.
