Free lunches and afternoon snacks will be provided for children attending the Blazers and Wattles Boys & Girls Clubs this summer.

Meals will be served at the clubs from June 15 to Aug. 18. At the Blazers Club, 5250 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., lunch will be from noon to 1:30 p.m., and a snack will be served from 3 to 4 p.m. Call the club, 503-282-8480, for more information.

At the Wattles Club, 9330 S.E. Harold St., lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a snack will be offered from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Call 503-775-1549 for information.

The clubs' mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as responsible, caring and productive citizens.

More than 11,000 kids, ages 6 through 18, are involved in the Portland metropolitan area clubs' programs, activities. Daily activities are provided in five core areas: character and leadership development; health and life skills; the arts; and sports, fitness and recreation.
