Don't forget to set all your clocks ahead one hour Saturday night. Daylight Savings time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The Oregon State Fire Marshall says this is a good time to make sure all your smoke alarms are in good working order. Although many similar agencies urge residents to change smoke alarm batteries, most newer smoke alarms come with 10-year batteries and replacing them would be a waste of a good battery.
Instead, ensure the alarm is working properly and if it is more than 10 years old, it's probably time for a new one.
