Step It Up, Inc. is recruiting for the summer Pre-internship Program, which is a career development program that documents each youth's work for high school graduation credit of career-related learning experiences.
They are focusing on recruiting youth who will be attending Jefferson in the fall. The application deadline is June 11th.
The Pre-Internship Program connects incoming high school freshman, freshman, sophomores and sometimes juniors with help for careers, secondary education and scholarship information.
"The main purpose of this program is to teach teens how to build confidence, succeed in life and make the right choices fro themselves," according to Step It Up, Inc.

Step It Up, Inc. will be holding the "Summer's Here: 5K Walk/Run 2010" on June 26 from 8 a.m. to noon at Irving Park to help fund the Pre-Internship Program. Register to walk or run, participate in a raffle for prizes donated by local companies and get a free breakfast for participating. An entry pledge of $5 for those over 18 (under 18 is free) gets you in the race or the pledge of $25 is available for the package of shirt, raffle ticket, breakfast and race. T shirts are available for $20 on the day of the event.
