Mayor Sam Adams held a public celebration for a Kenton Neighborhood Revitalization project on Aug. 25.

The effort to recall Mayor Sam Adams is now underway. The Community to Recall Sam Adams coalition say they have collected about 10,000 signatures so far.
The group hopes to collect 50,000 signatures in order to ensure they have about 32,000 valid signatures to engage a recall election. There have been 6,000 petition pages that can hold 10 signatures given to 450 volunteers.
If successful, it would mark the first time since 1952 that a sitting mayor would be recalled. If you support the recall effort, visit More information can be found at www.recallsamadams.com. If you support the mayor, you can visit www.facebook.com and find the group "Support Sam Adams."
"Don't we have more important issues to deal with in Portland when Oregon has a 9 percent unemployment rate and the future of our schools is in jeopardy?," say Supporters of Sam Adams.
